Bay Street Bungalow began as a roughly 1,000-square-foot home in Charlotte’s Chantilly neighborhood. Rather than starting entirely from scratch, the project retained the existing foundation and built two new stories above it, transforming the original structure into a completely new residence.
The homeowner brought an artistic eye to the design, and that personality is visible throughout the home. Bold paint colors, creative tile selections, and high-gloss flooring give the interiors a playful, polished character. The master bathroom continues that approach with a fresh, unconventional tile layout.
The standout feature is the master bedroom wing, designed to serve two very different purposes. A central partition divides the large bedroom into a comfortable sleeping area and a dedicated work space. The bedroom side incorporates a TV and entertainment station, while the opposite side provides room for a home office.
The bright master bathroom and spacious closet add to the suite, with a dedicated laundry chute built into the closet for everyday convenience. A private rear deck completes the master suite, creating a quiet outdoor space with a beautiful view.
