This extensive remodel transformed a 1970s ranch home into a one-of-a-kind Mid-Century Modern residence in the Charlotte area. The design combines contemporary architectural details with natural materials and an open, modern interior.
The exterior features tongue-and-groove cedar siding paired with large cement-board panels, precisely cut and arranged in a custom random pattern.
A striking cantilevered staircase extends outward from the home and features a floor-to-ceiling window, creating a strong connection between the interior and the natural elements of the 2-acre front yard.
Inside, the staircase continues the modern architectural theme with an open-riser floating design. With no walls underneath, the staircase keeps the space feeling open, spacious, and contemporary.
This project was featured in the Charlotte Observer for its unique design and construction plan.
