New Home Construction In Lake Norman
This custom-built home is a true statement of natural modernism. It was designed in collaboration with McClellan architects of Seattle Washington and Artistic Contractors. It has influences from renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, with notes of north western naturalistic modernism. It is set deep into a private estate on Lake Norman. As you make your way down a long tree lined drive you come upon a well-manicured landscape and are presented with a one of a kind modern home for the Charlotte area.
At first glance, you notice breathtaking floor to ceiling windows around the entire house. Your eye is then drawn to the exterior center cut select cedar cladding, which flashes beautiful warm woody tones that are accompanied by natural stacked stone and obsidian colored stucco. The house is designed as such to be one with nature as the materials used on the outside traverse through to the interior of the home. Take for example how the cedar soffits seamlessly flow through the top of the exterior windows into the ceilings of the expansive open floor plan.
The interior of the home is open to nature on all sides with floor to ceiling windows. The main living area and kitchen are one large functional open space with black slate floors that flow seamlessly out to the back patio. The materials of the interior meld perfectly with exterior architecture. The large monolithic slate patio sits above a majestic view of the pool draped by a terraced stone planter around the perimeter. The steps lead down to the pool house which has a built-in cedar bar and soap stone counter tops. The modern stained concrete pool deck naturally blends the areas into one complete space. The library of the home is located on the second story overlooking the pool and lake through the tree line. It’s lined with wall to wall custom built wood cabinets, a cedar ceiling and dark stained oak floors. It sports a back balcony with a custom cable rail deck created in-house by Artistic Contractors. This modern home is truly a unique gem to the Charlotte area, hidden away on its own private estate.
